All the Lord needs is our yes. A yes to doing His will, even when we don’t feel qualified
Last year, during my time as a missionary, I was blessed to have many conversations with people from all walks of life; however one stood out. I had a long conversation early in the year with a man who described himself as somewhat Protestant however more so atheist. We ended up talking about why I love Jesus and why I’m Catholic. It was a great conversation however I walked away from that conversation convinced I hadn't spoken very well and to make matters worse I didn’t see him again for months.
Fast forward to towards the end of the year. Out of nowhere, this same man started showing up to the events we were putting on. At one of them we finally got the chance to talk again. And what he told me stunned me: he had been looking into the process of becoming Catholic, and one of the reasons was that conversation we had at the beginning of the year. The very conversation I thought I had ruined.
Why do I share this Glory story? Because it happened at a moment when I was beginning to question whether what I was doing actually worthwhile, whether I was helping bring anyone closer to the Lord at all. But through this, I realized something so simple and so profound: all the Lord needs is our yes. A yes to doing His will, even when we don’t feel qualified, even when we don’t see the fruits, even when we think we’ve failed. My “yes” that day, flawed, awkward, imperfect—was enough for Him to use.
I am grateful to Citizens of Heaven ministries Uganda for granting me a platform to share my glory story with the world.
